Sales Notes:
Ziro’s debut release aims squarely for the dark heart of the dancefloor. Punishing 4x4 kicks ride thunderous, swollen basslines to devastating effect. It’s an astonishingly simple formula but it serves as a bold statement of intent from the young producer.
Early support from the likes of Mosca and Brackles on Rinse FM and BBC Radio 1 saw Ziro invited to record a guest mix for Mary Anne Hobbs’ XFM show back in January - a significant feat for a producer with no releases to his name.
Backing up the title tracks, a stunning, hypnotic remix from man of the moment Om Unit flips Oni on its head, Wrongspeed style. Completing the package, one of the UK’s most promising new talents - Thefft - turns in a gritty, low- slung house rework of Coded in his own inimitable fashion.
“Coded is a gleaming diamond in a whole heap of rigid no- vibe UK bass carbon copies... it’s got that groove, it’s got that sexiness, it’s meant for the club and it works in the club”
-Mosca, BBC Radio 1
About Crazylegs:
Founded in a dark Bristol basement in 2008, Crazylegs quickly became a key component in the progression of the city’s music scene. Consistently innovative lineups joined the dots between apparently disparate sounds at a time when genre-specific clubnights ruled the city’s nightlife.
By late 2010, Crazylegs had firmly established itself as one of Bristol’s most exciting underground parties, introducing the likes of Joy Orbison, Blawan, Deadboy, Brackles and Lil Silva to the city. People started travelling from all over the country to attend.
Now fifty events deep and curated by a ten-strong team of DJs, producers and vinyl obsessives, Crazylegs is considered one of the cornerstones of the UK club scene, booking everything from cutting-edge Detroit techno to the forefathers of the grime movement.
