After our last release where we brought Spooky's long lost classic Coolie Joyride back from the dead, for Oil Gang's fifth release we turn to Lewisham's Splurt Diablo. We released Splurt’s first vinyl appearance, with the brutal ‘The Return VIP’; part of The Quadrant EP, but here we present his debut solo release with ‘J3’. With a heavy nod to RZA's early Wu Tang productions, the title track finds Splurt on a dark one, blasts of sub bass and head down strings. On the B-Side there's ‘Lamped’- a strong staple of any grime set worth it's salt this year, snare rolls and gunshots all over the place. Rounding off the EP, we have"Ethnic," an off kilter piece of tribal drums and square waves.
Part of South East London's Family Tree crew, the reclusive Splurt Diablo has been long been an underground hero and we're proud to give him his first proper release.
