Jona, aka Jonathan Troupin was born in 1983 in Liège, Belgium. Eclectism is a master-word for him. He grew up listening to heavy rock like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Joe Satriani. His first instrument was unsurprisingly a guitar which he started to play at age 11. At 15, he discoverd electronic music - Carl Craig, Claude Young, Adam Beyer, Dave Clarke and others. Within two years he started to produce electronic music himself shaping his sound from Detroit techno and his own quest for a personal sophisticated house feeling of his own. After teaching himself some basics about enginering he enrolled at S.A.E. Brussels in 2000 making his background firmly both technical (as a professional audio engineer) as well as musical. Jona says he’s always trying to explore new ways of sounding...making emotions talk is what he calls it. He has been recording and releasing dance music for the past four years on labels such as Strobe, Fumakilla, Toys For Boys, Resopal Schallware and most popularly for Berlin’s Get Physical. He also records under the alias‘ Carsen Denaso and Fandango. He has remixed M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade, Daso and others. His past productions have already appeared in the boxes of major DJs like Sven Väth and John Digweed as well as Laurent Garnier and Mylo. The European dance press have also already picked up on him with his releases receiving positiveattention from the likes of Mixmag, De:Bug, Groove Magazine and Trax Magazine. He s currently working on his first album that will be released on Get Physical but before then he found time to give two very special dance floor cuts to one of his hero’s - Carl Craig. And here you have it - further proof that in terms of dance floor damage Planet E is unsurpassablei n 2008, first Sebastien San, then Martin Buttrich and now Jona and things are just hotting up ... dancing on Planet E never sounded better
