Fledgling Irish label Antiqua Recordings continue their policy of great music and high profile remixers with their second release, this time from Cork based producer Darragh Casey. Fresh from the debut Antiqua release which saw the likes of Stacey Pullen, Ripperton, Silicone Soul and X-Press 2 nailing their colours to the label's mast we now have the follow up from fresh new talent Darragh Casey. The package kicks of with the original version of -Tauru-, a bass heavy slice of tech house awash with Detroit inspired strings and broken percussion; this is lush and melodic whilst sticking true to its underground leanings. Following on from the original, -Tauru- get the remix treatment courtesy of Germany's Markus Homm (Ostwind, Highgrade) who takes the elements and creates a tough house cut is sure to get floor moving. Second of the two tracks comes in form of -Xuri-, a beautifully brooding piece of electronica that more than lives up to the expectations created by -Tauru-. Classic 909 percussion and layer upon layer of warm synth lines give this a timeless feel, house music done this well by a production freshman is astounding. The remix of -Xuri- comes from Detroit renegade and current hot property Kris Wadsworth who strips things back and delivers a stunning slice of hypnotic music that blurs the lines between house and techno.
