The debut release from exciting Irish producer Frenchie, with remixes from John Daly & Nicole Moudaber! Frenchie uploaded Fait Accompli & Hiatus to his myspace page in 2008 & left it at that, they were there for the world to hear but only close friends and the odd random visitor to his profile got to listen. Unlike your typical aspiring producer, Frenchie wasn’t intent on sending mass emails to labels or DJs in an effort to get recognition, instead, his music simply existed in a rarely attended myspace page, just waiting to be discovered. In fact, it was during a very tiring & almost unfruitful A&R browsing session that I discovered these tracks. My ears were growing tired of the sound of generic, trend-conforming poorly produced electronic music. Then I heard Fait Accompli, followed by Hiatus – and they quickly grabbed my attention. After a few weeks of repeated listening, the tracks still sounded as fresh & sophisticated as they did on that first listen. So I made the move to approach Frenchie, which wasn’t an easy task given that he had not been online since a few weeks before that, I contacted one of his myspace friends to get to him, a few days later we talked, & he agreed to release the tracks on Antiqua.
