Every so often a new talent pops up out of nowhere and delivers something special which grabs everyone’s attention. So, for it’s 12th offering Redux is very proud to present an exciting new artist with his first ever release and what a debut it is. Christophe, known to his Mum and Dad as Christopher Rees is not only a dab hand in the studio but a talented graphic designer in the day and DJ with the futureboogie crew at night. After playing a demo of “Make A Mark” to Tristan one hazy morning in his hometown of Bristol, the track was quickly snapped up by Redux without haste. Drenched in classic house sensibilities and showing astounding amounts of skill and taste for his first foray into the world of production, the future looks bright from this point on for Christophe. Uplifting piano stabs bounce over a solid bass line that mimicks the groove, whilst the trusty Roland drums add the authentic rhythm section giving it that true vintage feel . Roots Unit (Permanent Vacation) inject a heavy dose of Balearia into the vibe as their elastic, spacey synths soar through the stratosphere and launch the track into the cosmos. Elsewhere new boy wonder Lukas drafts in musician Steve Turner on guitar and bass to dub out the vibe, also adding extra vocals for his superbly uplifting Family Affair mix . This fine slab of music also comes tastefully dressed in Christophe’s own artwork and design, making this a dream debut with all his talents and skills presented in one. He has been responsible for all our new logos and sleeves and is an instrumental addition to the every growing Redux family. Already championed on Faith radio & receiving early plays from Panorama bar’s house maestro Prosumer on CDR ( Which is a solid testament to the track itself as he only usually plays vinyl). Also getting a big reception at Croatia’s Garden Festival last summer and backtobasics this year, “Make a Mark” is doing exactly as the title suggests for this hot new talent.
