Redux drop the first various artist EP in their history and pull together some of their favourite "track-smiths" to deliver a selection of dance floor goodies.
Spanning the globe from London to New York to down under in Melbourne, the music trawled on the first in the series all share the same aim… to make you dance.
First up from NYC is Drrtyhaze's "Get Down To Your Body" with it's stomping toms , funky woodblocks and meaty bassline getting straight to the point while uplifting piano chords soar in from above to elevate the vibe. Blurring the gap between house and disco the track builds and drops in all the right places to make this gritty groove feel bright and euphoric whilst still maintaining some energy to get those bodies moving.
Next in line is London's Mankind. Dropping a baggy, tripped out rework of Alexander O'neils club hit "Criticize". Sounding like Maurice Fulton and Toby Tobias having a fight in an airport with it's nasty bassline, delayed drums and jet engine build ups, "Marimba on Toast" is sure to make any party lift off into the atmosphere.
Finally we have an exciting collaboration between Pete Herbert and Melbourne's Golden Fleece who simultaneously show their love for belgium beer and the cosmos with 'Inter Stella'. Coming on strong like an impatient Bootsy Collins with it's insistent bass line, funky stuttering guitar licks and Hi energy synths…. this funk hammer is aimed straight at the backside and doesn't let go the whole way through. It's bright perky sound and solid beats are a guaranteed party popper.
Designed with one thing in mind these grooves are sure to move your behind making this ep an essential for any discerning DJ's bag. As always at the House of Redux, the music comes dressed to impress with ltd edition hand screen printed sleeves pleasing the eyes as well as your ears.
