Ten years in and after a long break doing not much, Swayzak return with their sub legendary 240 Volts label. Not as prolific as some but quality remains high on the agenda...
Up first a 3 track sampler selected from the forthcoming 'Saddle The Horses' compilation:
A1. Richard Davis - The Blue: A classic deep house crooner that tugs at the emotional psyche. Melancholic yet joyful this music is hard to come by these days, sampled piano and fragile voice intro roll into a fine 4/4 tune. A true songwriter and gifted producer Davis is long time cohort of Swayzak, having featured on their last two albums as well as countless live dates. This track is taken from his forthcoming long player Music Is History, his previous 12” Bring Me Closer on 240 Volts was the labels biggest seller and deemed a classic. Davis a resident of the original Panoramabar in Berlin has worked with the likes of Ulrich Schnauss, Trentemoller and Phonique and has a penchant for folk music.
AA1. Ben Vedren - In: growling, super deep space house of the minimal nature, Vedren, a native of Paris has worked alongside the likes of Jennifer Cardini, Dyed Soudroom, Dan Ghenacia, our own James Taylor and is currently setting up his own label Reduce Records. Ben is currently holed up in a chateau drinking vintage wine and making quality music.
AA2. Blufarm - Not Poor: a deeper chugging jacking tune and perhaps a reference to the native of San Francisco’s journey from war torn Beirut to the golden gates of California via Russian professional football. Chahe Demian is not your normal producer, an employee of the world’s top gadget company based in Cupertino, Demian is a regular on the SF scene playing alongside the likes of Richie Hawtin, Matthew Dear and yes you guessed it Swayzak!
