Musica Sol Y Mar are pleased to offer their first release showcasing some of the most beautiful music played on the island of Ibiza from the last 30 years, a style of music that has become known throughout the world as Balearic. Musica Sol Y Mar is the brainchild of two DJs originally from the Spanish mainland but now settled in Ibiza. They are deeply influenced by the music played by the likes of CaféDel Mar legend, Jose Padilla as well as Phil Mison and Jon Sa Trinxa. This compilation provides a beautiful snapshot that will take anyone who has been to Ibiza back to those long chilled days and nights on the White Isle. For anyone who has not yet made it to the Balearic paradise of Ibiza, the music here will provide a tantalizing glimpse into the spiritual vibe to be found on the island. From the cool Danish pop of Laid Back, through neo-flamenco courtesy of Ottmar Liebert to the ultra-chilled reggae grooves of Gregory Isaacs, Balearic Sound Volumen Uno is a broad church of musical styles. Jean-Luc Ponty’s rare version of Mory Kante’s Ye Ke Ye Ke is worth a special mention as it is now getting plays again from San Antonio to the Big Apple.
