His recent podcast for Resident Advisor has helped push him into the limelight and seen him rise to the top of the hype list of producers pushing the deep Detroit techno sound. ‘Treat Me Right’ sets the tone with an ultra hypnotic two chord loop and syncopated synth stabs which slowly build whilst the drums groove along in beautifully understated fashion. A great mood setter this one as well as a useful tool for those wanting to bring some serene, loved up vibes to the party. Jimpster sprinkles his own little bit of moondust on his edit of ‘Treat Me Right’ which keeps the original intact but housifies the drums and layers up some of the synth parts. Next up is ‘Celebration’, a real no-holds-barred techno cut that pushes the vibe from ‘Found A Place’ to an even more intense and heavy level. Classic stabs, the simplest of vocal hooks and filter tweaked breakdowns make this one a peaktime bomb that’ll definitely deliver the goods. Finally we have ‘Running Away’ which rolls out deep, ultrawide soundscape pads over the tightest of grooves while piano stabs and a simple melody add a classic vibe to this beautiful track.
