DESCRIPTION
Martin Dawson (King Roc) and Glimpse have again joined forces to stunning effect with this Crosstown Rebels release replete with Ewan Pearson remix. A slice of pure mesmerising heart-warming house that is truly inspirational.
The original of ‘No One Belongs Here More Than You’ is a smooth, classic house groove with driving bass and percussion to keep you on your feet. Kicking off with a stripped down Afro-Latin house beat comprised of cowbell and marching drum roll, the track builds as the production duo layer it up with hi-hats and organ notes. Chris’s dulcet tones languish over the luscious pads; it warps and meanders throughout the track leaving any listener in a state of elevation. Ewan Pearson’s Maximos Balearos Remix is something else, incorporating strings and synths in an epic interpretation that can cause sonic levitation if played in a built up area. Pearson’s natural flair for remixing is in full effect here; his exquisite interpretation will groove you to your very soul and leave you transcendent in its heady wake!! Glimpse’s experimental approach and innovative production techniques have an improvised, loose quality that perfectly compliment Martin Dawson’s infectious rhythms and affinity with the dirtier grooves and deeper end. It’s a tried and tested partnership. With EPs such as ‘The Flying Scotsman’ for Cocoon and ‘Runaway’ for 2020 Vision having already garnered support from the discerning pack - it would seem these guys are on a roll together.
Separately they are both diverse and accomplished solo producers and DJs. Glimpse has releases for Craig’s Planet E label, Buzzin’ Fly, Cadenza, Kindisch and Get Physical under his belt as well as a masterful debut artist album ‘Runner’ (2010) also on Crosstown Rebels that has been described as “truly inspiring”. Martin Dawson is a global purveyor of underground house and techno also gaining international acclaim with his 10/10 (iDJ Magazine) debut album ‘Chapters’ (2009) under the guise King Roc. As well as releasing under the name Two Armadillos with Giles Smith from secretsundaze, he has worked with labels such as Bang!Bang!, Dessous, STHLM Audio, Buzzin' Fly and Four:Twenty.
