Both tracks here are collaborations, ‘Try Me Again’ sees DisasZt link with High Maintenance a recent signing to Shimon’s Audio Porn label, while ‘Ultimate Win’ sees him join forces with regular studio buddies and fellow Austrians Kos & Tenchu. ‘Try Me Again’ steps up first, drawing you closer with a spooky cinematic intro, before suddenly flipping into a brutally twisted bassline workout that hammers its intense weight onto you again and again, as endless edits and clever arrangement keeps your interest. Smashers don’t get much more peaktime than this. On the flip DisasZt teams up with Kos & Tenchu and, once again, the results are breathtaking. ‘Ultimate Win’ kicks off with a chunky two-step drum beat intro that gives little clue of what lies ahead, before the tracks stomps into life with ten tonnes of teched-out future funk that harks to the golden age of Virus, Usual Suspects and Konflict with its skilful balance of funk and filth. Deep, dirty drum & bass that will destroy any dance.
