Here comes “Twice,” a brilliant new 12? inch with remixes from Professor Genius (Italians do it better, U.S.A) and Baby Ford (Ifac, U.K.). On the first cut, the Mother explores deeper grooves in a more organic fashion, letting an ethereal, trippy, melodic piano line unfold on a solid, spaced-out disco groove. The remixes of this hypnotic monster are just as strong as the original. Professor Genius’s “ragazza mix” elaborates on the melody, delivering a layered synth stomper right to the floor, while Baby Ford’s remix deconstructs the track into pumping, minimal, machine funk, typical of his incredible trademark sound. Panacustica’s first 12? delivers pure soulful psychedelia.
