"Smart & Loyal" is the first EP from Zulu, a Franco-Cameroonian producer and DJ based in Paris. Through 4 titles, this EP reports a multitude of musical and symbolic references, cleverly mixing electronic, hip-hop, ambient and club elements, between asserted modernity and assumed nostalgia. Beyond the unmasked reference to DJ Khaled, Zulu plays with musical and aesthetic codes throughout these twenty minutes, succeeding in reconstructing the club music of the past decade in his own way. Zulu is a DJ and producer based in Paris and member of the Bruits de la Passion collective. Resident on the LYL webradio with his show "Explicit Content", he explores the different facets of rap and its subgenres around the world. Inspired by its cultural miscegenation, Zulu strives to put music before genres. A music imbued with contrasts and oscillating between synthetic melody and sharp rhythms. His productions are a mix of hip-hop, breakbeat, club music and ambient influences, brought together in a sound that has a lot to tell.
