Coming off an outstanding 12" release on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, the mysterious artist known as VernoN returns with a 3-track EP that ranges from slamming acid and bass heavy techno to a thick house jam with a dizzying jazz influence.
Taking inspiration from both Hubble telescope deep space views of the universe and West Coast Roger Troutman funk teachings this EP delves into dance floor territory with reckless abandon. “Body Fluids” delivers a heavy dose of acid and jacking drums before warping the 303 and sending it into overdrive. “Gravity Probe II” takes us into bleep and bass territory with raw, syncopated drum programming and ruthless hoover-ish bass vamps. “Pfonk4dawgz” uses a series of distorted Rhodes piano chords, wobbly percussion and a chunky electronic bass line before laying down a deeply funky keyboard line.
