erlin based and operating, Paris bread and raised, Jean Yann Records is an independent music label focused on house, tech-house and techno music. Evolving in the Berlin scene for over 3 years now and being over 4 years old, the label has a roster of 15 residents with ever more satellite acts gravitating around it.
This Vinyl only release represents everything Jean Yann Records stands for, a real blend of genres, with a multi-cultural background, shaping the future of electronic music. All the producers who helped build this project play in big venues, either in Europe or in Asia, are known from and know the club scene, which sublimates the standing of the tracks in this episode.
A1. Daniel Jaeger – Cheyenne (Original Mix)
Berliner rising phenomenon from Criminal Bassline, released on major labels such as Bar25 and Katermukke, Daniel Jaeger, opens this journey with “Cheyenne” a fine-tuned, spot on Tech-House track. A melodico-progressive synth, sub-Saharan drums, and an earworm bass turn this track into an experience through time and space of its own. Dancefloor, rave and festival suited, this diamond will please any electronic music lover.
A2. Fabian Vieregge – Nyctophilia (Original Mix)
German resident of Berlin, releasing on Cinematique Records and Geistzeit Records, Fabian Vieregge, takes over with a track which propels us to a whole new dimension, Nyctophilia! A heavy and steady bassline run us through an epic battle between melodic-house and progressive-house. At the crossroads between darkness and pleasure this magical wonder is sure to get ravers stomping their feet until dawn.
B1. Tantra – Kala (Original Mix)
The Indonesian duo Tantra follows-up with a track blending electronic sounds from multiple influences. Mixing South-East Asian strings, with electro-based synths and club-suited beats, “Kala” is an episode of its own. At the border between Tech-House, Trance and Deep-House this musical rollercoaster is a real club banger! The promoters, DJs and bookers from Jakarta complete this release in the best possible way with a “I want more of where that came from” bombshell.
B2. Philippe Autuori – Waldo (Original Mix)
French DJ and producer Philippe Autuori, having released on Steve Bug’s Poker Flat label and having played in the best clubs in Berlin closes this episode full of adventure with “Waldo” and shows us what house music is all about. An up-beat tempo, perfectly timed vocal, funky drums mixed with twisted strings and spaced-out wind instruments grab the listener’s attention and instantly make him get in the groove!
