No logo is a new, secretive project started by a group of producers who have between them released records on Yore, REKIDS, Moods & Grooves and more. The label is purely about releasing quality underground beats for those who buy records for the music, not for the names. ‘Contemplate’ starts off as a dark and percussive track which locks you in to the groove right away with its bumping sub bass, twisted funk stab and swinging congo loops. This groove builds towards the main section which samples an eerie lost soul gem giving the track its unique flavour. Vocal hooks and a soulful lead are then introduced which once heard you will find hard to get out of your head. This track has already been turning heads in the clubs. On the flip, ‘Atmosphere’ does things differently by starting totally stripped down and builds gradually towards an epic breakdown. The track begins with an infectious electro bass line and kick. Synth strings filter in gradually whilst more percussive elements are introduced. As the grooves and melodies develop the track grows towards the breakdown in which deep atmopsheric chords and strings melodies with Detroit overtones are played over a spoken sample. The bass line then filters back in and the kick drops for the final time reaching the climax of the track and taking the listener to the next level. This EP is an essential addition to the record bag and is sure to work the floors this summer.
