UNDER 100 CUTS is a snapshot of the current musical melange in Budapest, a city bisected by the mighty Danube, a nexus between the modern European dynamism of Berlin and the thrusting re-invention of ancient Istanbul which results in many an unexpected juxtaposition creating otherworldly moments and magical fusions. Vinylize Eyewear is typical of this, with their unique method of making eyewear using vinyl records. Not only that but they also run their own record label that releases music by bands and artists they really like, on vinyl naturally enough. This release came about when Vinylize came across the guys performing at a local nitespot. Sure enough the stage was on fire and while their heady mixture of hip hop, soul and jazz rocked the cellar a deal was done on the spot. On the A side of the vinyl you find five grooving jazz inflected beats from the guys (not forgetting their resident singer Elisa!) reminiscent of the much loved Fat Jazzy Grooves from way back in the night of the day. The B side has given you something to play around with, however you feel, just have some fun with it. The covers are hand numbered with the "B" Side label hand drawn. Every one different.
