Top Pocket records returns with another robust and rounded VA for their second release. Eden Burns (Sandboards) provides two tracks on the A-side, plus a collaboration between Akira + Krywald & Farrer with Midnight Groove on the flip.
A1 - Eden Burns - Count Groove
A pure shot of rushy 90’s house revelry, Eden cuts a tribal groove with some rhythmic marching vocals. Spiritualised panpipes soar above the track, taking the dancefloor into the wilderness and leading us back into the party. A certified club zinger that’ll belt through the afterhours, this one’s for the peak time and afters.
A2 - Eden Burns - Moeraki Groove
This time Eden serves up an infectiously 90's Italo house anthem brimming with euphoric nostalgia. Floaty pads scurry alongside a solid house groove, heavily reinforced by an old skool dubby bassline. A natural progression from A1 this side of the press is for anyone who enjoys a dose of vintage 90s house.
B1 - Akira x Krywald & Farrer - Mushroom Valve
Warm droney pads enshrine a cascading melody, gently raising the pulse of the dancefloor through skippity drums and shuffling hats. With a drifting lead line at its core, a sense of zero gravity can be felt throughout, marking new territory for the characters on this collab.
B2 - Midnight Groove - Earth Kit
Midnight Groove rounds off the EP with a simmering deep house groove and some blurry spoken word. A mellow sonic breeze, the woozy vintage piano and jazzy cymbals just keep on coming, gently bringing down the fader on the more soulful side of the release.
