Nicolas villebrun, half of society of silence and acid square dance, is putting out his first solo album on fragil musique, accurately titled « snare roll lp ». Villebrun only needed a couple of recording sessions during a short period of time, to put the whole thing out from a unique set up. Although an accomplished musician, tite seems to leave his technical skills aside when crafting his music, embracing all the spontaneity one would expect from a techno producer. Listening to the lp, the title starts to make sense. When the snares are not rolling, the smooth basslines take over, strongly dragging bodies towards the dance floor. Hungry man, move into hell, a white track, and the amazing the bell glides are among those. Basslines curved as a horse's behind, subtly swifting through the air, are playing around with smartly spread out rhythms and textures. Tite comes up with nine commonly grounded tracks, but with the necessary talent and sharpness to produce a resolutely fine, homogeneous, and yet diversified techno lp.
