In THRACES, a forgotten land nowadays, many great civilisations and great myths met. Spartacus the rebel, and Dionysos, god of feasts, as well as Orpheus, who used to charm men and beasts with his lyra belonged to Thraces. “Thraces” offers a tribute to gods and to musician great figures, in the shape of an adventure, from esoteric visions to exhilarating impressions. “Thraces”, is a musical maelström, a place of unexpected meetings. The THRACES “object” is a vinyl record, made of yarns that intertwines; it is a vortex of quotes and identities. The music of “THRACES” is built on the loop concept, like a never ending tale with neither beginning nor end. The listener, when embarked, is free to imagine situations, developments, characters, to built up his own odyssey. He lives a new experience, a trip, a journey part of a crew, made of chimeras. Pushed by a wind of music, we sway: Detroit, Latin America, European rave culture, traditional music from Bali and Reunion island, scandinavia’s icy smoothness... It is a universal trip and the whole world is the theater of our odyssey. This disc is an enjoyable epopee produce by Eumolpe, a collective heroe. It testifies our will to give tribute to our forefathers, to celebrate encounters, to open paths, to attempt prowess and try some challenges. Let us hear in Thraces an oracle promise. The THRACES Project. During year 2009, the Eumolpe Crew artists expressed a common will: to crystallize what influenced them into a record. During six years we organised concerts in Rennes and Paris, and today, the first record of Eumolpe crew is born. Thraces own it’s name from the Indo European old civilisation, which refers to mixture and confrontation of genres. The vinyl format ha been choosen, because he give the space to truely express a graphic point a view of a pièce of music.
