The third Komisch release is by The Parallel. With a string of digital releases to his credit, this talented new producer now makes his vinyl debut. -Abyss- gets down to business, as spacey textures melt into billowing chord sequences, underpinned by spiky claps and intricately woven pitch bent percussion. By the time the massive kick arrives, the seduction is complete. -Mind Reverse- is focused on the floor, its stomping beats and metallic, robotic synths becoming increasingly more claustrophobic until the track breaks into a ghostly breakdown. On the flip, -Nanotech- starts off in dreamy mode before a hammering drum and a fluid acid line lead it to a crashing snare-led climax. Finally, -The Parallel- ends the EP in mellow mode with a snaking, sensuous bass and raw drums fused with soft, resonating melodies. With more EPs planned for Komisch in 2010, this is not the last youve heard of The Parallels universe.
