The third outing on Elijah & Skilliam's Butterz imprint is a limited clear-vinyl EP featuring three remixes of Terror Danjah's 'Air Bubble'. The original version was a main draw on Butterz' first release -TD's Bipolar' EP - and featured here is a trio of diverse takes on the tune from close label affiliates Starkey, Swindle and Royal T. After the parts to the song were released on the Butterz blog earlier this year, over 200 producers ended up remixing it. Elijah and Skilliam showcasing the best efforts on their Rinse FM show, including Geiom, T. Williams (Deep Teknologi) and SRC (Numbers), and now the top of the tops are on wax, but there are only 300 copies so this is definitely one for the fast-finger collector massive. Starkey leads the way with his spaced-out interpretation which is full of colour by way of his signature computerized synth leads. His version has already received support from Bok Bok, Eqyptrixx, and Dusk & Blackdown. Furthermore, the Mayor of Starville's mix is exclusive to vinyl and will not see a digital release. On-form Royal T goes back to the 90's with a breakbeat-meets-grime approach for the first time, and to great effect. As always the 20 year-old's rendition is energetic and gutsy with an apocalyptic breakdown, and this makes for one of his finest pieces to date. Watch out for his highly anticipated 'Orangeade' EP dropping on Butterz in 2011. Swindle rounds off the affair with his quirky and staggered synths creating a woozy dance-floor shaker that just keeps building and building. Even after a long-term relationship with Elijah & Skilliam, who premiered his biggest hit to date 'Airmiles' on their show, this is actually Swindle's first offering on Butterz, but is very much a precusor of of things to come, as he will also be releasing a solo EP on the label in 2011.
