Steve Summers bangs out four new tracks on his Analogous Desires EP. Summers takes his usual palette of analog machines and creates a new feel for the four tracks on this record. Large Juno basslines, dreamy string leads, and big roomy 707 hits Analogous Desires combines classic elements of Chicago, Detroit, and New York house sounds with some dreamy soundscapes. A1. With a huge club filling bassline, floaty detuned strings, and chugging drums the title track introduces a persistent intro that grows inside the mind. A2. Between Thoughts offers the transcendent retro sound that can bridge techno and house sets. With Perky stabs, floaty latin percussion, great layering and a well tracked groove which pulls the crowd in. B1. Beyond the night, channels a Mr Fingers vibe with twirling Juno sequences, persuant drums, and climbing leads. B2. First love syndrome offers a deep groove that grabs you with nice piano and tom tom accents offering a great end of set (or night) track. This combination pushes this record into a new but yet somehow familiar sound that classic house and techno listeners will enjoy.
