Tokyo's Sapphire Slows makes her debut for the always impeccable Nous imprint and their new series mundus, with four exquisitely delicate, abstract studies in synthetic science.
.
Opener 'The Role of Purity' is a mesmirising 11 plus minutes that drifts around in its own somnolent, stuporific terrain, gently fusing ambient devices into a seamless soundtrack.
The B side sees a brace of slightly bolshier offerings in the form of 'Speculation' and 'Mallets & Marbles' in which Sapphire Slows allows her machines to feel more mutinous, all the while savouring the sophistication of their euphony. The EP comes to a close with 'Silent Escape' translucently stalking the eerie cosmos of electronica, outwardly tender, inwardly ferocious.
