Diego Montinaro aka Sandiego is a Milan - Italy native. Being inspired by the mid-80's production work of Quincy Jones, Diego began to embrace the sound of black music by favoring jazz, funk, boogie, disco and soul. By the year 1993 he was already an expert of second hand vintage vinyl collecting rarities. He started making beats with Akai S950 sampler and Atari 520 ST computer. Major inspiration was given from artists like Herbie Hancock and Donald Byrd. He credits this experience by all the CTI records, specifically Bob James and Deodato.
In 2002 with already three Lp released and strong experience in studio production, Diego starts to move into electronic music founding Boogie Drama project. Some of Boogie Drama's most notable successes are signing important releases on labels such as Systematic, Was Not Was, Mood Music, 2020 Vision more than remixes for Mood Music, Brique Rouge, Strobe Music, Infant, Liebe Detail and Highway. At the same time Diego Montinaro released the excellent album "My Politix of Dancing" on Irma Records. This Lp merged Kraftwerks electronic sounds with the first 80's New York sound thanks to the typical sampling technique o hip hop. The accurate production and writing of arrangement, composition and singing, all from Diego Montinaro itself, grants him a great review by Dj T on Groove Mag.
After a long period of listening sessions and experiments in recording studio the latest productions result in an accurate sound which mix some elements of Detroit Techno together with powerful rhythmical arrangements, Moog bass in 3/4 and old school electro sounds. Now Planet E presents to you the results of the latter, Memories EP.
