Following on from two volumes of well received digital and vinyl releases, Rory Phillips’ ‘Mixed Fortunes’ singles series returns for a third outing. Heard at the top of Rory’s recent mix for Beats In Space, 'Don't Stop' is a collaboration with rising London producer Martin Dubka. Best known for producing records for Ali Love and Tyson as well as adding additional audio muscle to recent Aeroplane productions, his disco chops came in very handy to help create this bouncing piece of vocoder boogie. On the flip is 'E-Bow', named after the handheld electronic gadget used to create the soaring Fripp- like guitar sound that emerges half way through. About Mixed Fortunes Named to reflect the stylistic range of the series, Mixed Fortunes channels the same spirit of musical adventure heard in both Phillips’s remix work and in his genre-hopping DJ sets, with tracks both by Phillips alone in his well stocked analogue studio alongside some undertaken with a range of top secret collaborators while staying true to Rory’s trademark sound, which he has showcased across Europe, Asia, the USA and South America this year alone.
