Ripperton’s ‘Niwa’ album has without doubt been one of the highlight releases of 2010, and continues to impress and surprise with each and every remix EP. Having already been treated to the wonderful revisions of ‘Random Violence’ (Joris Voorn) and ‘Leonor’s Lanugo’ (Radio Slave), the Swiss producer continues to enthrall with his latest remix invitations. Being presented with the tools to create, does indeed give you a head start. However it is the vision, and skill to be able to realize it, that sets great producers apart. To say we have been presented with two outstanding revisions falls short of doing them justice, for French House legend I:Cube (’At Peace’) and Berlin based producer Mark August (’The Sandbox’), have created two, quite outrageously brilliant masterpieces.
