BigBait 016 presents no other than legendary Detroit-based producer Rick Wade (Harmonie Park, Laid…) with two brilliant cuts telling beautiful stories from timeless dancefloors with his drums-laden trademark sound full of extravagant sample-handling and timeless rhythm-combinations. Labelhead and shuffle-house-don Peter Clamat jumps into the place with a standout remix of the title track and the long awaited vinyl debut of his slowburner “Zheo Parrish als Tränen aus ihren Augen”, giving this EP a special touch and surely a lot of rinse in those dusty cabinets of dirty late-night dancing!
Rick Wade – Eclipse If you know Detroit resident Rick Wade, you apparently recognize pretty soon his very personal style of Detroit-soul-bound, jazzy house music. Eclipse is a genuine Rick Wade track with an 8-Bar melody made of shifting organ chords floating over trademark-like drums, underpinned by a huge subsonic bassline foundation.
Peter Clamat – Eclipse RMX Another guy with his own trademark-like style is Peter Clamat. First of all he sets down the tempo by 10bpm to operate on a higher shuffle level. Pitched to death sample snippets follow the groove, sidekicked by a dope subbass. When the strings arrive and the bearly recognizable original trumpet shows up, the listener is already sucked up into Pete’s authentic world of quantize-paradise…
Peter Clamat – Zheo Parrish als Tränen aus ihren Augen On this track Peter Clamat truly reveals his extraordinary musical talent. At the beginning a weird vocal sample is lifting the listener on the level of the very characteristic and pumping Peter-Clamat-groove. Building upon this basic architecture the track evolves step by step until the full break at 2:45min where a sudden peripety pulls the rug out from under the dancefloor. Suddenly the dancer is finding himself lying in a warm and fluffy bed of deep Rhodes-chord- clouds, just turning in on the runway for another take-off to an even higher orbit.
On this tremendous 4-Tracker Detroit deephouse grandmaster Rick Wade meets Bigbait founding father Peter Clamat. The latest Bigbait bomb is exposing two different generations of groove science and philosophy to each other – forming a synergetic dancefloor orgasm built upon pure dopeness and deepness.
