For over twenty years, Rich Oddie has been making electronic and experimental music as a key member of a wide range of projects and bands, ranging from ambient to industrial, techno to punk. The most well known of these is Orphx, a long running collaboration with partner Christina Sealey that has gained widespread acclaim for their pioneering fusion of industrial, techno, and electro. Rich’s other projects span across experimental and psychedelic music: Antiform (ambient / electro-acoustic), Closing Sale (synthpop), Magic Shadows (garage punk), O/H (power electronics), and Oureboros (ambient / black metal). Surface is delighted to release Rich’s very first solo ep with two tracks that dig deep into his trademark aesthetic of dark droning atmospheres, dubbed out sound manipulation, and relentless rhythms.
