Wurst kicks off the new decade with Reade Truth’s auspicious debut for the label. The longtime techno vet - he of Strictly Rhtyhm and Sonic Groove pedigree - turns in quite the heady offerings. “Let’s Go To Heaven” is a brooding, electro-fueled, and dare we say, sleazy affair. Perfect for building the night up or taking it down, horizontal dancing style. “Folie a Deux” takes an altogether different approach, what with its relentless, infectious bounce. The man’s “Crimen Excepta” EP for Planet E last year was quite a tough act to follow, but we’d like to think Reade turned it up a notch for his Wurst EP. On the flip is none other than Brennan Green, whose cheekily-titled version of the a-side, “Let’s Go To New York Instead” is a startlingly tough house remix, not to mention an undeniable dancefloor bomb. Wurst has garnered support from such dance music luminaries as Carl Craig, Harvey, Erol Alkan, 2 Many DJs/Soulwax, James Murphy (LCD/DFA), Optimo, Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, Rub N Tug, Todd Terje, Joakim, Holy Ghost!, Brennan Green, Pilooski, The Revenge, Horse Meat Disco, Unabombers, Luke Solomon, The Glimmers, Ewan Pearson, Tim Sweeney, Chris Duckenfield, Munk, Still Going, Pete Herbert, Beppe Loda, I:Cube, Padded Cell, Kaos, Gilb’r, Darshan Jesrani, Runaway, Lee Douglas, Jackpot, In Flagranti, Tim “Love” Lee, Social Disco Club, Alex from Tokyo, Permanent Vacation, Nick Chacona, Mock & Toof, Citizen Kane, Lexx, DJ Spun (Rong), Cosmo Vitelli, Baby G (LSB), and Prince Language (Editions Disco).
