‘Atlantic Modulations’ (realeased on 12” vinyl) brings together reworkings of Will “Quantic” Holland’s critically acclaimed album "Atlantic Oscillations", featuring remixes from Sampology, Dan Shake, Alfa Mist and Quantic himself.
EP opener "You Used To Love Me ft. Denitia (Selva Remix)" epitomises Holland's relocation to Brooklyn, building his new recording studio 'Selva' and taking up a bi-monthly residency at 'Good Room' (NY); with the essence of the NY club scene radiating through the Selva Remix. A key figure in London's burgeoning jazz scene, talented pianist, producer and composer Alfa Mist reworks "You Used To Love Me" with the addition of melancholic brass and keys, giving the original a contemporary jazz twist.
"September Blues" is granted the heavyweight house treatment by Moodymann-stamped-seal-of-approval, Dan Shake. Adding his well-loved mesh of sparky acid synths, Brazilian samba percussion and itchy groove-funk to the song, fuelling "September Blues" into a peak-time contagious weapon.
Brisbane-based producer, DJ, and Worldwide FM resident, Sampology gives "Orquidea" featuring Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist Sly5thAve, a delicate touch of tropical-disco and dub-variants, slowing down the brass horns and distorting the bedrock of the track. ‘Atlantic Oscillations’ marked the return of world-renowned British producer Quantic with his most cohesive and intricate album to date; "Atlantic Modulations" cements that release, contextualising it on the dancefloor.
