TRICKLE DOWN EP includes the title track and remixes of top selections from the album including a remix of “”Trickle Down” by New York’s finest HERCULES & LOVE AFFAIR, a remix of “Human, Unfortunately ” by Jori Hulkkonen (TURBO, FCOMM) and “Farewell, Welfare” by SiYoung (Plastic Little, Secluasis). HERCULES & LOVE AFFAIR (DFA) gaining constant notoriety for their classic house stylings, H&LA have been spilling over into the mainstream music community for years. Their recent album ‘Blue Songs’, singles like ‘Blind’, and remixes for the likes of Lady Gaga place them prominently on the main stage of electronic music culture. For their second appearance on Sugarcane, H&LA bring an absurdly good dance floor track. Bouncing Acid Line with sharp piano riffs and a bass line that just won’t quit. The vocal use is minimal and hypnotic in the way only H&LA can provide. A fresh approach on the classic sound that everyone will enjoy. Jori Hulkkonen (TURBO, FCOMM) really shines here. As if the entire Processory album collection wasn’t enough Jori remixes the song ‘Human, Unfortunately’ to perfection. A beautiful piece of electronic dance music clearly influenced by his predecessors such as New Order and Pet Shop Boys. In fact Jori sees the release of his production of the New Order Classic ‘Subculture’ featuring Chris Lowe of the Pet Shop boys this month and seemingly finds inspiration from the effort. A+ SIYOUNG (Plastic Little, Slit Jockey, Secluasis, Philadelphia) makes his third appearance on sugarcane. A sultry and drifting remix of ‘Farewell, Welfare’. Light and effortless with his underlying signature drum pattern that keeps Siyoung on the cutting edge. A graceful and lite bit of music from one of the up and coming beat and dubstep producers of the moment. Always a pleasure.
