In the heart of Poland's electronic music landscape, a transcendent force has emerged in the form of Trance-Atlantyk, a entity devoted to cosmic tingled sounds of the electronic music universe which humans tend to describe as progressive house, proto trance, ambient house.
The creation of this new sonic organism can be traced back to two seasoned veterans that have not only witnessed but also actively shaped the evolution of the Polish electronic music scene for the last 20 years. For now they conceal their true identity under the nicknames of Pankoff & DJ Varius Trax.
Trance-Atlantyk is not just a dynamic and eclectic DJ duo that finds pleasure in all manner of progy, trancey, floaty, breaky and housey sounds that clocks in between 130 and 150 BPM; it's also a series of events and a record label that extends its influence across physical and digital realms. With a commitment to preserving the authenticity of electronic music, Trance-Atlantyk releases music on both vinyl and digital platforms. This dedication to the tangible and the digital reflects the duo's forward-thinking attitude, ensuring that their sonic creations reach audiences in diverse ways.
The very first release, which is also the creation of Pankoff & DJ Varius Trax pays homage to domestic pop seamleesly blending it with euphoric, uplifting and high octane club-oriented music.
The “Sound of Poldon” EP (“Poldon” being a slang word for Poland) kicks off with “I want to tell you”, an energetic, proggy house track that contains vocal snippets from one of polish most popular tracks of the last decade (which originally got released in 1979, but rose to prominence thanks to and edit that got released by The Very Polish Cut Outs in 2015). An anthemic chorus is pitched up & looped to the max for ultimate satisfaction. More experienced listeners will surely also recognize a few other notes in the background bringing back old-school trance memories.
“Moon Song” is a massive dj tool that evolves after the breakdown into a nostalgic and euphoric peak time anthem. The hypnotic vocal parts that are sampled from one of the biggest Polish hits of the 90s era by Varius Manx, will take you back to the glorious past with the kick going 130 beat per minute.
The B-side starts with a huge bop called “Punch Bowl”, a hip-hop infused & breakbeat-oriented acid roller providing hypnotic rap vocals from one of the most prominent underground anthems of the last decade. Dreamy synth stabs colide with cascades of snares and brokean beats and agressive acid elements. The whole tense and pumping track concludes with a soothing outro.
The EP ends with “Jeny”, an atmospheric and vibrant cut with a broad palette of different emotions. A heavy bassline is pushing the affair forward, with a chorus that is simply hypnotic and captivating, while synths and trancey elements add an impeccable flavour to the whole business. A massive club jam.
