Nederlandse Maatschappij Ontwikkeling represents a step forward in the style of N.M.O. While their debut cassette Dominant Akkord was an exercise in trimming down and exploring simple combinations of acoustic snare drum, computer, and tape delay, on this new 12″ the palette of sounds and rhythmic patterns have expanded to demonstrate what this Nordic-Mediterranean Organization defines as “military space music and/or fluxus techno”. Consequently acoustic hi-hat, analogue bass drum and synthetic claps have been added to the core of the project, which consists of live drumming juxtaposed with synchronized SuperCollider sequences. These four new compositions represent their move into the left-field club scene while keeping one foot in the art world via an unorthodox approach to repetition and the performative elements of their live act.
