Neurotic Drum Band’s monster opus, “Robotic Hypnotic Adventure”, was ubiquitous this past winter, hammered the world over by a broad range of discerning DJs. We felt it was only right to give it the remix treatment, and came up trumps with three most excellent takes on this anthem from three most excellent producers hailing from right here in New York. First up to bat is none other than Abe Duque. The man needs no introduction, and his remix, quite simply, is stunning. Abe is clearly a master at his craft, as he employs the original’s strings and synths to great effect before finally letting loose the huge piano hook a full 5 _ minutes in. And lest we forget those cheeky baby samples - a nod to NDB members John Selway and Elliot “Ulysses” Taub’s oh-so-cute offspring. Wurst (and some label called DFA) alumni Runaway went the extra mile for both their return to the label that introduced them to the world, not to mention their old pals John and Elliot. Arguably their finest remix to date, and certainly giving their biggest tune, “Brooklyn Club Jam”, a run for its money. Newcomers Harkin & Raney turn up the energy with their adrenalized, bouncy rub, giving you more than good reason to keep your eyes on these fine fellas.
