Fresh from the release of his debut solo 12", Destruction/Poseidon, dubstep scene figurehead Youngsta returns with a two-track 12" through Rinse in collaboration with fellow heavyweight LX ONE. Youngsta should need little introduction by now: he's been representing dubstep on Rinse FM and as a resident at FWD>> since its earliest days, as well as mixing one of the most acclaimed titles in the Dubstep Allstars mix series. LX ONE, meanwhile, has released a string of fierce records through labels like Tempa and N-Type's Wheel & Deal, and has collaborated with the likes of SP:MC and Icicle. Together, LX ONE and Youngsta have created some of the leanest and deadliest tracks in the Tempa back catalogue. Even by the stripped-back standards of most contemporary dubstep, 'Responsibility' stands as an exceptionally minimalist cut: little more than metallic percussion, flickering dub chords and a hulking bassline that tears through the mix like a wrecking ball. On the flip, 'No Cure' heads off on a techno-leaning flex, matching plunging subs with rolling percussion, offering an entirely more propulsive companion the A-side's crushing weight.
