Mental-health champions, Mind of Ours, return with Luke Sandler’s timely follow up Club Spirit EP bringing yet more memorable dance-floor moments. Cinematic house and techno label Mind of Ours are back with a new release. After the success of its debut EP, We Go From Here, exciting new producer, A&E doctor and label frontman Luke Sandler is back - just in time for clubs to re-open. The Club Spirit EP was crafted during any respite Luke Sandler had between shifts in the Emergency Departments of London over the worst parts of the pandemic. A four to the floor core flows through each track, pumping a vein of continuity through an athletic reinterpretation of the sound of UK underground. The combination of escapism, nostalgia and hope comes together over 4 tracks transporting the listener to a time and place where dance-floors heave once again under the weight of revellers. The opener Club Spirit combines otherworldly synths with distant melodies. Thumping lo-if beats entwine with emotive samples, bringing old and new clubgoers together. Lockdown laments the past year, whilst celebrating the imminent reignition of the UK dance scene. Intricately layered fragments of drum breaks combine seamlessly with snippets of unintelligible, yet beautifully familiar vocals, before building to a crescendo that surprises and delights in equal measure. As with the first release, the B Side leans towards club play. The Last Sunset lays yearning pads and synths over heavy percussion building an unrelenting energy to a dramatic climax. Ducks continues to raise the tempo. With its organic hang drums and analogue synthesiser, rolling and shuffling percussion brings the EP to a close. Some imaginative samples show a new side to Luke Sandler's production, developing his sound yet further.
