"I'm back for more", a song penned by Kenny Stover and recorded by his band Leo's Sunshipp in 1977, is a two step classic of the highest order. Unfortunately, due to the sad death of Sunshipp member Johnny Simon, the album "We Need Each Other" was never completely finished but was released nonetheless in 1978. Original copies of the album and accompanying 12" single are very hard to come by.
The quality of the songs and the production did not go un-noticed however. Only a few months later soul legend Marlena Shaw recorded a version of the song for her album "Acting Up" with outstanding results and then two years later Al Johnson laid down the groove for a third time for his album of the same name.
This record collects the three versions together in outstanding quality to serve as a reminder of brilliance of the song in its three iterations.
