Im Juni 2000, fast sieben Jahren nach ihrer Gründung, veröffentlichte das Underground-Rap-Kollektiv Jurassic 5 endlich sein Debütalbum.
Trotz hoher Erwartungen konnte 'Quality Control' problemlos mit der herausragenden selbstbetitelten Debüt-EP mithalten. Das lyrische Können von Jurassic 5 kommt in Titeln wie 'World of Entertainment (Woe Is Me)' und 'Contribution' besonders zum Ausdruck und zeigt ein Maß an Eloquenz und Mitgefühl, das im Rap bisher nicht zu finden war.
