Something tells me this one’s gonna be big. Uzuri 020 comes from Jitterbug, and it’s great to have him back. Followers of the label will be very familiar with this producer’s work, even if they know very little about the man himself. I’m not going to shatter the mystique. Having been behind some of Uzuri’s more stomping releases, the Workers EP could well be his finest yet. Apparently the title is a nod in support of the global proletariat, but it could equally refer to the floor-worthy nature of the tracks themselves. Truly an EP; you get six tracks of out and out bangers – from straight drum tracks to smoother Summer jams and disco-licked house – each track bringing a fresh flavour. Basslines to die for. It feels silly talking about it, to be honest. We’re wasting time. Have a listen.
