Sanguebom presents « SAMURAI », a little jewel of dub, tinted with melodica and classical guitar. On this track, he invites the preacher MC Jahguidi, who chants his truths in music, exactly like Prince Far I would do it. If the late Gil Scott Heron sang “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” in 1970, Jahguidi, continues the revolution here and pays tribute to the roots of music from his elders, with all the love and peace from a samurai warrior. “Samurai” is the first single from the album “BLACK STAR LINE”, produced by Sanguebom and due for release on the first quarter 2012.
This multi-instrumentalist, producer, talented fiddler, half way between the Alchemist and Mad Scientist, is clearly walking in the footsteps of artists such as RJD2 or Wax Tailor. Equally at ease on guitar, as with a sampler, Sanguebom is amongst those who love to tell stories with music. Conceived and designed during a three month journey in Africa, including a Paris-Dakar drive in a Renault 21, BlackStarLine is naturally inspired by travel and meetings. However it’s been fully homemade in a garret, under the roof of Paris, it’s also easy to understand why this album is so spicy, colorful and loaded with good vibes, taking us through 12 mixed tracks, going from Soul to Dub, through Reggae, Hip Hop, and Trip Hop.
