Meda Fury is a new London based label, distributed by R&S Records, bringing new and established producers together from across the globe. House music is a broad artform - and over each release we will be exploring the infinite possibilities within this genre. Using the extended player as a story-telling canvas we hope to create a breeding ground and network for disparate artists from many different countries. Limited vinyl then followed by digital download. Hazylujah’s follow up to his Delsin EP is inspired by the works of Alejandro Jodorowsky and Carlos Castaneda.
The EP title is a quote from Heraclitus translated today, a criticism of people who ignore the flow of reality.
Enter Hazylujah’s desert world first through Get Mezcla, a propulsive windswept rhythm box and otherworldly dream-noise precede a tlapitzalli flute melody, transporting the mindstate to nomadic Mesoamerica. Mystical vocals become layered amongst the tumbling arrangement, progressing and perfecting its existence.
Acqua Amara’s subtlety builds from a breath to a wilderness of indigenous birds. Synthetic harmonies form a makeshift Hacienda, before an undulating bassline and imaginary pianos complete the settlement – all seen as a mirage in arid heat.
How Can You Hide From What Never Goes Away? Lights a fire and starts the ritual drumming, ramshackle native strings and flutes dance out of time until a voice and synthesizer sing into the night world. Joined by hand the tribal percussion grows stronger and a pathway of chiming bells ring out a connection to paradise.
On High In Translucent Tomorrows steps through the calendar door to the new unknown, a multicoloured system of pipes erupt and a magical bass tone flowers while shape-shifting creatures shriek into the void. The shaman’s prayer completes the divination.
