Full Release of the recent Greg Gow white label on Transmat!
In electronic dance music there are a few artists with a special talent to produce tracks that in the right hands, will rock any dance floor in the globe. With his second release on Derrick May’s legendary Transmat Records, Greg Gow confirms he is one of them.
This Toronto based artist shows he masters the art of creating solid bass drums percussion, groovy baselines, keyboard and string lines that build up into perfect musical architecture,
Twilight Soul is the closest one can get to the classic Detroit Techno keyboard sound that paints the landscapes of the desolated downtown streets. Gow definitely knows how to add percussion and strings so the whole track is in constant change thought moving up and down both in sounds and emotions. Twilight will keep the crowd moving all night long.
Dearborn Dreams was inspired several summers back when Gow was driving the highways of Detroit late one night and was imagining what it would be like to live in Detroit. The track builds on a much simple percussion base but explores a universe of hypnotic synth sounds in a long build up that takes over half of the track and culminate with a sustained string. Then suddenly a new theme comes up from the dust and all elements slowly fade in like they were coming from the wind.
