Today the label take things up another level, with one of the most exciting remix packages of the year.It’s not often that we are treated to three big remixers on one release, but today Monique bring you the ‘El Gitano EP’ remixes from, DJ W!ld, Pier Bucci and 2000 and One.DJ W!ld is up first with an 11min percussive monster. Reworking ‘Bolivian’ from the original EP, W!ld creates a drum laden workout, that builds in stages throughout. Taking the original’s Flute and guitar he weaves them in and out of proceedings with just the right amount of verve. Fantastic stuff!Pier Bucci is up next with his remix of ‘Canadian Salsa’. His ‘Salsacanaca’ rework is a stripped back, organic, yet more minimal take on the original. Prominent wood block percussion and female vocal, make for a wonderfully spooky affair.Finally its the turn of the man that never sleeps 2000 and One to step up, with his remix of ‘El Gitano’. When he’s not running his 999 labels, he’s turning out incredible productions like this. Injecting the original with a warehouse vibe, keeping the oboe line, and twisting it to great effect around a vocal sample from the one and only Aretha Franklin, he turns in a floor burner of epic proportions.
