EZRA BANG & HOT MACHINE!!! are a 5 member boy-girl collective based in New York/London. To date they've released one limited 7" single on Invicta Hi Fi Records (Ladytron, Pop Levi). Their second single "WHAT U CAN'T KILL U MUST ENVY" produced by Spider J (Killa Kela, Estelle, Lee "Scratch" Perry) was released as a white label on 20th April. The track was debuted on Tom Robinson's Introducing show on BBC Radio 6 & followed by a subsequent live session for his Friday night show. After nearly a year of support slots with everyone from DJ MEHDI, LADYTRON, JACK PENATE, YO! MAJESTY (the band are currently working on a track for former member Shunda K), KANO, BUSY P, a disastrous Vice Party in Vienna, where after missing their initial flight they were so loud they blew the P.A., deportation from Amsterdam, last summer they found themselves touring with Public Enemy, and for the first time being taken seriously. Ahead of their first group show at Webster Hall in New York at the end of June, they'll be doing two dates at Glastonberry 2009 in both the Dragstrip & Dance Tents, as well as The Great Escape Festival, Brighton. With a kind of slap dash, DIY approach to vintage synths, huge amps, samples and miscellaneous junk, theirs is a rare kind of hip hop.
