GTCM016 introduces D.K., a new artist to emerge from Paris' electronic underground. With an impressively accomplished sound for a debut release, this EP contains four original tracks and it's all killer, no filler house in the vein of Ron Trent, Moon B, PPU and Future Times.
ALL DAY EVERYDAY (PART I)
Lush risers, beautiful chords and relentless jackin drums are at the core of this dreamy but highly engaging cut which truly lifts off once its syncopated bassline kicks in. With a smooth, warm feel and elegant sound design this track is a spectacular EP opener.
ALL DAY EVERYDAY (PART II)
Based upon the same elements than Part 1, this version explores the possibilities offered by slowing things down so that D.K.'s deeper side can shine. Given the opportunity to breathe his pads become tremendously expressive. Structured by hard hitting but never aggressive drum sounds and a plodding bassline, this is a beautiful, sexy, blissed out track.
ALL DAY EVERYDAY (DUB)
This dub version of All Day Everyday foregoes pads, risers and basslines, only to retain the original's irresistibly jackin drum programming. The result is a tantalizing and versatile tool that has the rare quality of working wonders with house, techno and bassfocused genres alike.
IT’S GOIN’ DOWN
BSide cut It's Goin’ Down is the perfect alter ego to All Day Everyday on the flip side. Using a similar kit with different sequences, D.K. achieves the equally wonderful results while still sounding fresh. Beginning with a bouncy drum groove elevated by risers, pads and a funky baseline this track has a slightly darker groove than its counterpart while still retaining D.K.'s dreamy touch.
