DJ Madd has come a long way since he dropped the inaugural release on the brand new Black Box label in 2009. His busy schedule has seen drops on N-Type's label Wheel & Deal and the Kryptic Minds-owned Osiris Music, as well as a steady stream of records on Black Box including two EPs and a mix CD. Coupled with weekly radio plays across Rinse FM, BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra and Kiss FM, and a heavy gig list that has seen him travel regularly across Europe and beyond, DJ Madd has entered the upper levels of the dubstep fraternity, and is now ready to cement that position with his debut album.rn* 'The Real & The Shadow' is a perfect representation of the breadth of Madd's sound - from the low-slung menace of the title track and the LX One-vocalled 'Program' to the 808 stylings of 'Body Pop' and the furious breaks of 'Junglist'. Dancefloor bangers are balanced by sweeter moments such as 'Kyoto Station' and 'Moving On', and Madd also drops his first full vocal tracks; 'Deeply' featuring the US singer Lady Maroo and 'No Tomorrow' with the infamous Congo Natty member Rebel MC.rnThis LP represents a landmark both for Madd and Black Box, and delivers the quality that both artist and rnlabel have become known for.rnTRACKLIST CD: 1 The Real & The shadow / 2.
