Soul Jazz Records/Universal Sound are issuing ‘Edu Lobo por Edu Lobo’, the legendary Brazilian vocalist/composer’s stunning debut album originally released in Brazil in 1965.
This is a stunning bespoke hardback card case exact repro-original artwork digitally remastered CD case edition and a very limited deluxe 1000 copies edition on 180gm vinyl with Japanese style American-pressed heavyweight sleeve vinyl edition – quite literally mind-blowing!
This is the first time the album has ever been issued in the UK. The album features the Tamba Trio (Luiz Eca, Bebeto and O’hanna) and was produced by Aloysio de Oliveira for the seminal Elenco label.
As well as his own classic compositions (which he often wrote for singers such as Elis Regina), Lobo also collaborated with the greatest lyricists such as Vinicius de Moraes and the radical left-wing film-maker Ruy Guerra, to produce some of the most important songs in Brazilian music, songs such as 'Reza', 'Arrastao', 'Boranda' (all featured here) and many more.
This is the first in Soul Jazz Records/Universal Sounds series of classic Brazilian albums all released in premium quality hardcase card and heavyweight vinyl editions!
