Bloc Party legen nach! Anfang August erscheint die "The Nextwave Sessions" EP als 12" Vinyl-Maxi. Entstanden sind die Ideen zur neuen EP auf ihrer Welttournee 2012. Zusammen mit Produzent Dan Carey (Bat For Lashes, Hot Chip) nahmen Kele & Co dann schließlich "Ratchet" sowie "Obscene", zwei der fünf neuen Songs, im Studio auf. "Ratchet was the first song we recorded with Dan. It really came together whilst we were on tour in 2012. We started slipping it into the sets at the start of this year just to try it out and the reactions were insane. We knew we had something special", so Kele Okereke.
